Grape Varieties: Selection of the best grapes from the Vinha Velha plots, with relevance in Touriga Franca, Sousão, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alicante Bouschet and Tinto Cão.
Tasting Notes: Garnet red color, with depth and concentration. The nose suggests chocolate notes and black fruit surrounded by suggestive spicy and floral notes, in a delicately balsamic and mineral background. In the mouth it is a complex wine, but very elegant, the harmony between the black fruit and the wood of the stage stands out, spicy and balsamic notes, the aftertaste is firm, dry and fresh, it ends with great persistence.
Vinification and aging: Manual harvest in 20kg boxes, 100% destemmed, fermentation in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature at 24/26ºC for 9 days. Malolactic Fermentation in French Oak Barrels.
Ageing: 18 months in French oak barrels and 4 years in bottle before being marketed.
Ageing Curve: Due to the organoleptic characteristics, a very positive bottle aging is expected over the next 10 to 15 years.
How to Serve: Decant 15 minutes before, for the wine to breathe, and serve at around 16-17ºC. This wine has not been aged, so it may have a slight natural deposit (coloring matter and salts).
