Grape Varieties: Tinto Cão 100%.
Tasting Notes: Light ruby colour, forest, eucalyptus and menthol aroma. A rushing acidity in the mouth, dry tannins that mark and translate that unusual grape variety of Douro. A very persistent wine that lasts in the mouth.
Winemaking: The grapes were transported to the winery in 22Kg boxes, where they were kept in a cold storage for 12h, then de-stemmed, partially crushed and conducted by gravity to the “lagares”, where the complete alcoholic fermentation took place. Malolactic fermentation occurred naturally in old barrels. Ageing was done in these same barrels for 20 months.
Winemaker: João Nicolau de Almeida
