This wine is a very limited special edition, made only in exceptional years. In this way, it is possible to show in each edition the best of the Alicante Bouschet variety and the best of the terroir of Monte da Raposinha.
Region: Montargil, Portalegre, Alentejo, PORTUGAL
Terroir: Influence of the Montargil dam which is located 800m from the property, creating a cooler and more humid microclimate. Vineyards with rolled pebble soils evidencing the former presence of a river.
Grape Varieties: Alicante Bouschet (100%)
Tasting Note: Penetrating aroma of black fruit, fresh and elegant balsamic and spicy notes, to which are added the notes of well integrated new barrel. In the mouth it shows its volume and concentration, polished tannins, without ever losing its freshness and elegance. The finish is delicate and long.
Vinification: Vine subject to bunch thinning, leaving a production of 5 ton/hectare. Manual harvest into 15kg boxes and careful selection in the cellar. Total destemming and slight crushing of the berries. Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and aging for 23 months in new French oak barrels. Final batch is composed only by the selection of the best barrels.
Gastronomy: Ideal wine for meat dishes (especially stews and roasts), game, cheeses and sausages. Suggestion - decant previously.
Oenology: Paula Bragança
