To conclude this Quinta de Cidrô range, we have created a very original blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Nacional, uniting Portugal’s best and most emblematic grape, to the world’s best-known variety and the one responsible for great wines worldwide. Cabernet Sauvignon was the first foreign red grape to be planted at Quinta de Cidrô, in 1993, together with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Since 2004, with the development of the Quinta de Cidrô range and its growing popularity, we focused this very specific wine to become the Quinta’s approach to Cabernet; considering the two aspects of our culture: Experimentation & Innovation and Quality & Consistency.
Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Nacional.
Tasting Notes: This red wine, with a dark purple colour, was conceived to be an original blend of Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon. After its ageing in oak barriques, the wine combines depth and complexity with finesse and elegance. Balanced by an excellent structure it tastes very full-bodied and the aromas of black fruit, vanilla, tobacco and chocolate promise a great potential of evolution in bottle.
Winemaking and Ageing: Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. 100% of the wine ages in French oak being 50% new and 50% used, for 18 months, in excellent natural ageing conditions.
Food Pairing: Beef Rib, Tripes, Rib-eye Steak, Wild Boar. Best served at a temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC. Drink now or cellar for 15 years.
Winemaker: Jorge Moreira
