Moscatel Roxo, is a dessert wine produced in the Setúbal Region demarcated since 1907. Casa Agrícola Horácio Simões founded in 1910 has always been its policy of betting on innovative products. In this house the bet on a variety that was extinct in the region and produce this nectar.
Tasting Note: Dark topaz color. Intense aroma, Floral, Spices and evolution. Round flavor, very soft and fresh. Very long aftertaste.
Gastronomy: As an accompaniment to a good dessert served at a temperature of 18ºC.
Winemaking: This Moscatel Roxo results from an intense work shared among the vineyard and the cellar. The vineyard was monitored and pampered at all times so that yields did not exceed 2500 liters / ha and the grapes reached the winery in an ideal state of health and ripeness. At the winery, a "proper" winemaking was conceived for this product, different from what was usual in other companies in the region. It consists of an intense selection of clusters followed by a pre-fermentative maceration for 5 days, after which the fermentation is allowed to start very slowly homogeneously throughout the vat, reaching os of fermentation in 3 days, benefiting this wine with the best wine spirits in this case Armagnac, followed by a post-fermentative maceration of 5 long months. The final stage is carried out in 6000 liters, where it is concentrated. Winemaker: Luís Camacho Simões
