Grape Varieties: Baga, Touriga Nacional, Agua Santa, Moreto de Cantanhede, Bastardo.
Tasting Notes: A great classic from Bairrada and Portugal. An imposing, seductive, lively and still very young wine. Aromatically it reminds us of spices and balsamic aromas. In the mouth a great body, well present but silky tannins. A memorable wine.
Vinification: The Baga variety was vinified in an open mill with partial destemming, under temperature control. After uncubating, it aged for 12 months in new 300L French Oak barrels, and the same wine was aged for another 12 months again in new barrels. The remaining varieties (Touriga Nacional, Água Santa, Moreto de Cantanhede, Bastardo) were vinified in small vats (700L barrels) also under temperature control. After uncubating, this wine aged in the same vats for 2 years.
Food Pairing: Red meat and game dishes, roasted or stewed, not very spicy/spicy.
Service Temperature: It should be consumed between 17C to 18C.
Enology: Magda Costa / Anselmo Mendes
