A wine in which complexity, freshness and elegance combine in an absolutely surprising way. With great longevity, it is always sold at its ideal point of consumption, many years after its harvest.
Climate: marked by the mountain ranges of Estrela, Caramulo, Buçaco and Lousã, which surround this place and protect it from the Atlantic action and influenced by the proximity to the Aguieira dam reservoir, it enjoys exceptional conditions. The humidity caused by morning mists provides slower and more balanced maturation.
Soil: Granite sandy
Grape Varieties: 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz, 30% Alfrocheiro, Jaen and Tinta Pinheira.
Tasting Notes: It has an intense, red glow with brick nuances. In the aromas, the fruit is very present, revealing strength and youthfulness. Notes of the forest and touches of toast and vanilla blend harmoniously. The acidity is very present in the mouth, surrounded by fine tannins, revealing great character and making it especially elegant. Promises long life in bottle.
Vinification: Pre-fermentation maceration and fermentation at controlled temperature in a granite press with foot treading.
Ageing: Minimum of 12 months in stainless steel, minimum of 12 months in French oak, minimum of 24 months in bottle.
Maturity: 8 to 25 years after harvest.
Pairings: Red meat, aged meat, game, cod, baked fatty fish, cheese and desserts, particularly chocolate.
