Located in the “heart” of the Douro Valley, on the right bank of the river and with a natural and historical potential to make great Ports (its vineyards hold the highest quality classification in the region - "Letter A"), is now reinterpreted as a collection of Douro wines, with the always personal touch of the Alves de Sousa family. The red Grande Reserva expresses all the character and complexity of the old Douro vines.
Grape Varieties: 15 indigenous varieties (Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Amarela, others).
Age of the Vines: Over 60 years old.
Tasting Note: Deep ruby color. Very complex with notes of dried plums, hazelnuts, dark chocolate and dried leaves. Enveloping, very fine tannins, with a long finish.
Vinification: Total stemming. 7 Days of fermentation with temperature control. 7 days of maceration.
Ageing: 18 Months in French oak barrels (50% 2nd year, 25% 3rd year, 25% new).
Pairing: Intense meats (beef, goat)
Temperature and Service Conditions: 17ºC. Open 20 minutes before serving.
Ageing Potential: 15-20 years
