Grape Varieties: 65% Touriga Nacional and 35% Touriga Franca.
Tasting Notes: Good purple and very deep concentration. Fine and very complex aromas. Good fruit character, with a predominance of more floral notes, later evolving into spicy and complex notes, from aging in wood. In the mouth, it shows fruit, complexity, harmony and elegance from the excellent tannins, which give it a very silky sensation and a very long finish. The combination of balanced acidity and an excellent concentration of wild fruits will certainly contribute to a long aging process, so the wine can benefit from a few years of aging in the bottle. Balanced, elegant and persistent finish.
Vinification: Grapes harvested in small boxes of about 20 kg with perfect phenolic ripeness. Fermentation carried out in small stainless steel vats with controlled temperature. Ageing for 15 months in new 225 liter French oak barrels. 55% new wood and 45% 2nd year wood.
Expected Ageing Potential: 15 years
Serving suggestions: Good harmony with red meat, game or traditional Portuguese sausages. It should be served at 18ºC with prior decantation.
Winemakers: João Brito e Cunha and José Luis Silva.
