Terroir: Despite being a very old region, the Douro still has, thanks to its large size and enormous diversity of terroirs, much to be explored. Quinta de La Rosa is a good example of this diversity, with vines from around 100m high, next to the river in the imposing Vale do Inferno, to 500 meters in altitude in the Lamelas vineyard. We also have several east, north and south sun exposures and a great diversity of grape varieties. Always with a privileged view of the Douro River, all the Quinta's grapes are letter A – the best the region has to offer. The poor and shale soils, combined with a very varied topography, favor full-bodied wines with excellent levels of minerality, acidity and freshness. This combination of complexity and power, which is achieved when we have good maturation, and the elegance and freshness so characteristic of our Quinta, have made our wines famous. Our wines are elegant in expressing their terroir without exaggerating maturation, extraction, tannin or wood. La Rosa's whites are characterized by floral and citrus notes, with a good balance of fruit.
Grape Varieties: 60% Alvarinho and 40% Arinto.
Tasting Notes: La Rosa Cerejinha, is characterized by its firm acidity. With a bright yellow color, this wine highlights aromas of white fruit, orange peel and lime. On the palate, the aromatic component is confirmed, in harmony with the vibrant acidity. A refreshing and mineral wine.
Vinification: The wine was fermented in small stainless steel vats, with 9 months of aging in wood. Bottled in July 2022.
Gastronomy: Suitable for Vegans. Gluten-free.
Winemaker: Jorge Moreira
