1st monovarietal parcel of Touriga Nacional in the Douro (P29) and centuries-old vines (P21).
Since the 2005 harvest, this wine has been a fundamental piece in the history of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo and in its maximum expression of terroir. Originally, Touriga Nacional was the first monovarietal vineyard planted in the region the Douro, now 45 years old, a vineyard plot of 1.65 ha with east-west exposure, a mixture of clones whose productivity is very low, with very compact clusters and small berries.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional (75%) and centuries-old vines(25%).
Soils: Schist
Tasting Notes: Unique, this highly concentrated blend of Touriga Nacional, combined with centenary old vines, results in a wine with a very elegant profile, almost feminine, contrasting with an intense structure of juicy tannins of an enormous precision. The high gravity of a schist texture, the flowing profile, and the purple colour reflects the nature of the Touriga Nacional variety.
Production Mode: Integrated
Vinification: Harvest by hand. 100% destemmed.
Ageing: 12 months in new French oak
Winemaker: Jorge Alves
Viticulture: Ana Mota
Prémios: 19/20 Grandes Escolhas Magazine, Portugal | 94/100 Revista de Vinhos Magazine, Portugal
