TRUFA NEGRA is a wine produced with grapes from two vineyard plots located in the Douro in the Cima Corgo sub-region. The first, in Valença do Douro, is an old vine (over 70 years old) and with a mixture of approximately 30 autochthonous varieties. It is located between 300 and 350 meters of altitude with a North exposure. The second one, in Foz do Rio Távora, is about 30 years old and has a mixture of grape varieties dominated by Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
Vinification: After careful manual selection on the selection mat, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in a Granite Lagar with foot treading for 7 days.
Ageing: After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for 16 months in used French oak barrels.
Tasting Note: The aroma is concentrated, with notes of black fruit and spices. In the mouth it is full-bodied, has a complex flavor where black fruit stands out and has intense but well-integrated tannins that give the wine a long and fresh finish. It is a very gastronomic wine.
