Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional
Tasting Note: Attractive copper color. Expressive aromas of orange blossom, raspberries and touches of white roses. In the mouth it has a mineral freshness that offers an invigorating appeal, with a lot of orange blossom and raspberry flavor, it persists with sucrosity.
Winemaking: The grapes come from the Estremoz region, are 19 years old and located at an altitude of 350m and are planted in clayey-limestone soils influenced by marble parent rock. The harvest is manual. When the grapes arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and pressed up to 55% yield. The pressed must is decanted in a stainless steel vat at a temperature of 10ºC for 48 hours. After being cleaned, it is inoculated into stainless steel vats where alcoholic fermentation begins, then the wine is transferred to 400 liter French oak barrels where fermentation continues and ends at a temperature of 16ºC for a period of 20 days.
Ageing: Remains and ages in 400lts French oak barrels, for a period of 6 months, in a process of fine lees “batonnage”. 3 year old barrels.
