Crochet is a wine made with four hands that faithfully reflects the colossal and indomitable spirit of the Douro. A wine made by two friends, Susana Esteban and Sandra Tavares da Silva, winemakers who share not only a deep friendship but also a common passion for wine and a similar sensitivity and visions of what the Douro can be and has to offer. Two oenologists who joined forces to produce this Douro wine that brings together the feeling and the common experience of many vintages together and separately.
Grape Varieties: 50% Touriga Franca, 50% Touriga Nacional.
Tasting Note: Dark red color. Fruity but compact, almost monolithic, it alternates between the delicacy of the fruit and an intensely mineral profile surprising by the softness of the tannins, the aromatic depth and the vehemence of the structure. Tense and serious, it is a strict and well-mannered red that presents itself as fine and elegant.
Winemaking: Manual harvest in 15 kg boxes with strict selection at the entrance to the cellar. Vinification in stainless steel vats with post fermentative maceration. 18 months ageing in French oak barrels 40% new and 60% second year.
Winemaker: Sandra Tavares, Susana Esteban.
