Terroir: Calcareous clay soils, rich and with a great capacity for exchange with plants. Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influence, wide temperature range, maximum sun exposure with vineyard facing south, vineyard planted on a slope that provides excellent drainage of the land and thus contributes to the balance of the vines with reflection on low yields, concentrated grapes and acidity potential that originates fresh and long-lasting wines.
Grape Varieties: Castelão, Trincadeira, Camarate, Alicante Bouschet among others.
Tasting Notes: A wine made to remember traditions. The notes of wet earth, the black spice from the experience of a vineyard that has survived over the years by itself, the aroma of the ripe black cherry just picked and the freshness of the eucalyptus take us back to our grandparents' cellars, in that smell a lagar so characteristic and that stays in the memory. In the mouth the ripe tannin of the grape picked by hand at the perfect moment. The voluminous body, the clay notes and the freshness that insists on refreshing the palate that always asks for another sip of this wine that brings so many happy memories. It should be served at 16-18ºC.
Vinification: Grapes harvested at a stage where the balance of maturation and acidity is enhanced. Fermentation in an open press with foot treading without the addition of any yeast, enzymes or nutrients, in order to enhance all the natural flavor of the grapes.
