Made from a “Vinha de Forcado” planted in 1932, located in Amarante, a viticulture system that grows through trees and reaches almost 7 meters in height. The harvest is done with ladders. Pequenos Rebentos Selvagem, will always be a special edition and bottled in a limited number of bottles. I like to experiment, and experiences should be shared. (Márcio Lopes)
Grape Varieties: 100% Azal
Soil: Granitic
Vinification: After manual harvesting, with the help of ladders, and transport to the cellar in small boxes (18kg-20kg), the bunches were destemmed, bag by bag, to a small press, trodden by foot and then fermented in an amphora with indigenous yeasts. This was followed by a light pressing and ageing with the total lees in used barrels. Not filtered neither stabilized.
Ageing: 30 days in contact with lees in amphora. 9 months in used barrels.
Tasting Notes: Wine with a yellowish color, intense aroma with a touch of straw and critin. Vibrant wine in the mouth, with excellent acidity, the fruit on the nose goes very well in the mouth. Finishes long and persistent with mineral nuances.
Food Pairing and longevity: Fatty fish, white and grilled meats, at a temperature of 12ºC. It can be consumed immediately or in the next 10 to 20 years, as long as it is stored lying down in a cool and dry place, protected from light and without temperature fluctuations.
