This wine is uniquely produced from the vineyards at our Quinta Da Gricha estate, expressing the unique features of the 'Gricha' terroir: minerality, purity and finesse. An intense and seductive wine, with black cherry and herbal aromas.
Grapes: 100% Field blend from Quinta da Gricha including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Francisca and Tinto Cão. Old vines (approximate age +50 years) from Quinta da Gricha.
Tasting Notes: Dark cherry colour. In the nose, intense spicy aromas. Rich and creamy in the mouth, with notes of cedar and dry spices, it has a long velvety and elegant finish.
Vinification: The grapes are cut into small boxes (around 20kg/box) and transported to the winery where they undergo a very careful selection process, and are subsequently crushed. Vinification is divided into two phases: a first in the Lagar with gentle pumping over and a second in 500 liter French oak casks where malolactic fermentation also takes place. 100% of this wine is aged for 12 months in French oak casks. It was fined and lightly filtered before being bottled.
Serving Temperature: Serve at room temperature (16º-18ºC).
