At Quinta de Ventozelo, every grape variety has a history. In the case of Touriga Franca, we are talking about a hidden talent, a generally undervalued grape variety that Ventozelo has placed centre stage. It has thus unearthed a grape of complex and seductive aromas, and an inexhaustible elegance and balance.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Franca
Tasting Notes: It is deeply garnet in colour and aromatically complex with a mature fruity nose. Structured, smooth and balanced on the palate with a persistent finish.
Vinification: The grapes were received at the winery, in the special line, with total destemming and manual selection of bunches and then “berry by berry” by an optical sorting machine. Vinification was carried out in a press, with pre-fermentation maceration and temperature control.
Ageing: No ageing in wood.
Gastronomy: Pairs perfectly with a full meal, starters based on medium-strong cheese and meat dishes. Best served between 16º and 18ºC.
Ideal consumption date: Can be kept closed, in suitable conditions, for 10 years without losing quality.
