Grape Varieties: In an integrated production regime, this wine has in its origin the best grapes of the traditional varieties of the region: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão.
Tasting Note: Aroma with notes of violets combined with wild fruits, with a subtle touch of Vanilla. In the mouth, an elegant acidity, complemented by the characteristic minerality of the Douro, and a good presence of the Touriga Nacional variety.
Winemaking: The grapes were harvested by hand, at their ideal point of maturation, aiming to have a vigorous maturation, leading to higher aromatic and polyphenolic concentrations. The winemaking was done in stainless steel vats, thus allowing the quality constituents present in the skins of the very ripe grapes, to pass smoothly into the wine, with slight pumping over and prolonged maceration.
Ageing: After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged in new, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year French Oak barrels for 12 months.
Pairing: Well-present tannins that make this wine the ideal pair for cheese and red meat dishes. Best served 14ºC.
Winemaker: Victor Rabaçal and João Brito e Cunha
