Quinta Santa Teresa Curtimenta Branco 2022

Quinta de Santa Teresa Avesso Curtimenta is a “curtimenta” white wine, also belonging to the category of orange wines. The fermentation with skin contact gives this wine an amber tonality and a higher tannic structure, in this distinctive interpretation of our Avesso grape variety.

Grape Varieties: 100% Avesso

Tasting Note: With an amber-orange hue, on the nose it has floral notes, mango, thyme and wax. On the palate it shows a full-bodied structure, a vegetal character and notes of dried fruits and dehydrated fruit, such as apricot or apricot. A wine with a gastronomic vocation. It will evolve well in the bottle.

Vinification: Reception of the grapes in the cellar in 24kg boxes. Manual selection followed by destemming, with fermentation of the must in vats with the skins of the grapes. This tanning process, similar to the vinification of red wines, promotes the dissolution of more phenolic compounds and tannins, resulting in a wine with amber-orange tones. Spontaneous fermentation with pump over and temperature control. After fermentation, the wine was decanted and racked, not remaining on the lees. Partly aged in barrels for 6 months, and the rest in stainless steel vats. Cold stabilization and bottling without filtration. No animal derivatives are used in the process, making this wine suitable for vegan consumers. Special care was taken in vinification, minimizing any intervention, with the aim of producing a wine that well expresses the particularities of the grapes and terroir.
