Rosa da Mata Fernão Pires Branco 2020

Wine produced from exclusive grapes of the Fernão Pires variety, a vineyard located in the sub-region of Pinhel, an area of Beira Interior marked by low temperatures and medium to high rainfall. Located in Beira Alta, these Pala – Pinhel grapes give the personality and strong identity of the cold region and very marked by acidity.

Tasting Notes: The Rosa da Mata presents a greenish yellow color, a reflection of its aging in wood, on the nose you can find the exuberance of the perfume of sweet flowers such as white rose, some fruit such as tangerine and lime, and a lot of freshness. Fernão Pires is characterized by being a very fragrant variety and this is evident in this wine. In the mouth it is not a wine that starts simple, it gains volume and texture, it has elegance and structure, the bipolarity embodies this wine that takes over and changes with each sip. It goes well with duck dishes, game, fatty fish, goat and sheep cheese, and is simply delicious to taste, having body, salinity, freshness and minerality, in summer, it should be served at 7ºC.

Vinification: The grapes are harvested manually in 20Kg boxes so that the grape remains intact and free of oxidation, without tearing the skin until pressing in the cellar. These grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at low temperatures, still in fermentation, a part is placed in new and used 500 liter barrels where the fermentation ends with contact with the fine lees and remains for 14 months until the moment of bottling, giving a very light touch to the wood without overpowering the wine. This wine is only filtered.
