I consider this red wine the most special I have produced so far. From the exceptional 2018 harvest, I selected only 5 barrels that stood out for their enormous complexity and storage capacity. The grapes come from the exceptional vineyards of Serra de São Mamede, were vinified in mills and aged in French oak barrels for 3 years, until bottling in December 2021.
Grape Varieties: 60% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Touriga Nacional, 20% Blend of traditional varieties from the Serra de São Mamede.
Tasting Note: The nose impresses from the first moment for its intensity and peculiarity, the result of the combination between the aroma of the vineyards of the mountains with Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet, which only in exceptional years like 2018 is aromatic and subtle. In the mouth it has an unusual harmony, with soft and elegant tannins which gives it a unique complexity that is transmitted in the mouth where it is wide and deep and mineral.
Vinification: Manual harvest in 20kg boxes with strict selection at the entrance to the cellar. Vinification in lagares and aging in French oak barrels for 3 years.
