Quinta da Pedra is one of the historic properties in the Alto Minho region, dating back to the 17th century. It is located in the heart of Monção and Melgaço, a sub-region of the Vinho Verde designation of origin, where Alvarinho stands out. The property has 53ha, cultivated dryland, benefiting from pure granite soils, with gentle slopes for drainage and perfect exposure. Two wines are produced here: Milagres by Quinta da Pedra which is our "perfect" Alvarinho, and Graça da Pedra which is a young Alvarinho, released the year following the harvest. Additionally, back editions of Milagres will be released from time to time under the designation "Purple Edition".
Location: Monção, Minho, Portugal (Vinho Verde DOC).
Terroir: Climate influenced by the Atlantic. Vineyards planted in depressed granite soils. High density planting for better root penetration. Dry farming.
Grape Varieties: Alvarinho (100%).
Vinification: Slightly refrigerated pre-fermentation maceration. Gentle pressure. Fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature. After 6 to 9 months, the wine is clarified, filtered and bottled to be released on the market.
Tasting Notes: Bright lemon yellow with greenish tones. Pronounced aroma of fresh citrus, tangerine and stone fruit. Light to medium body, with a vibrant acidity that runs throughout the palate. Silky texture and a very long mineral finish, reminiscent of mine water.
Serving: Serve between 6-8Cº.
Conservation: In a cool place (12 to 14Cº) protected from light, without large temperature variations.
Longevity: This wine is perfect for drinking now, but will age beautifully until 2030-32.
Gastronomy: Excellent with roasted meat or fish, lamb, roast beef and aged meats.
