Lapa dos Gaivões Grande Reserva Tinto 2011

Terroir: Acidic, poor and fine textured soils. Mediterranean climate with the influence of the Serra de São Mamede giving rise to large temperature ranges and thus a potential concentration of acidity and long maturation. Sun exposure favored with most of the vines facing south, vines planted on the slope of the rocky shale mountain range, which causes competition between the plants and a very specific balance with very low yields of 3 tons/ha, concentrated grapes of great complexity, delicacy and minerality.

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional among others.

Tasting Notes: Garnet violet colored wine, closed and intense. Intense nose with notes of pennyroyal, black fruits, spices and toast. On the palate, good freshness with polished tannins, complexity, fruit and chocolate truffle notes with a light mineral finish.

Vinification: Cooling of the grapes, pre-maceration in a stone press, treading on foot for 10 days and post-maceration.
