Ensaio means test or trial. With this wines we pretend to show the best of our terroir and our grape varieties, testing them in different winemaking technics and different approaches.
Location: Montargil, Portalegre, Alentejo, PORTUGAL
Terroir: CERTIFIED ORGANIC VINEYARD. At 500m distance, the dam of Montargil as a great influence in the microclimate, increasing humidity and lowering the temperatures.
Grape Varieties: ALICANTE BOUSCHET (100%)
Tasting Note: Aromas of ripe black berries and a hint of eucalyptus leaves. In the mouth is full bodied, with good acidity and soft tanins, the end is surprisingly fresh.
Winemaking: The clusters were hand-harvested and carefully sorted at the winery. All grapes were destemmed without crushing. Wild fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, with controlled temperature. Aging took place in stainless steel vats.
Food Pairing: Meat, cheese, sausages, as well as vegetarian dishes made with tomato sauce or grilled veggies.
