Produced from traditional grape varieties from the Douro Demarcated Region and from the highest areas (600m) of Quinta de Vale de Cavalos, in an area of soil marked by the transition between shale and granite, to ensure freshness. The second year of aging in French oak barrels gives it complexity and structure. Grape varieties: 25% Códega, 25% Rabigato, 25% Gouveio, 25% Viosinho. Vineyards aged 10-20 years. Tasting Note: Color Straw yellow. Stone Material, peach, quince and end with notes of honey. Intense, fruity aroma, with citrus notes and green asparagus vegetables. On the palate it is very engaging, with a slightly saline character and very well integrated wood. Notes of green asparagus with a touch of wood.
Gastronomy: Accompanies especially well grouped with grouper, seafood rice, cod with brás, asparagus risotto.
Winemaking: Grapes selected in the vineyard and cut by hand. Fermentation at controlled temperature. Ageing: 30% of the blend aged for 6 months in second-year barrels of 300 liters capacity, with “bâtonnage” of fine lees.
Winemaker: Jorge Manuel Pintão, André Pimentel Barbosa.
