Grape Varieties: Encruzado
Tasting Note: The color is bright straw and slightly greenish tint. Having no contact with the wood, Primado White does not suffer the aromatic influence of the barrels showing a more varietal nose. More floral at the beginning it will, however, reveal aromas of citrus with some tropical and wild herbs notes. In the mouth the exuberance is remarkable and progressive. The exceptional balance between acidity and alcohol gives it great elegance. It is possible to feel the discreet presence of citrus fruit, green apple and nuts. The contact with the grape skin gave it structure providing a long finish in which the aromatic and intensity of the taste are harmoniously revealed.
Winemaking: The grape juice remains in maceration before fermentation during 8 hours, before being pressed. The fermentation proceeds slowly between 14ºC and 15ºC allowing the harmonization of the complex aromas of the Encruzado grape.
Pairing: With a strong gastronomic vocation it is also a wine without a season. It goes well with fresh foods typical of the warmer seasons, but is well prepared to combine with strong dishes, namely oven fish, cod, some meats and cheeses.
Ageing Ability: Up to 10 years after harvest
Winemaker: Patrícia Santos
Awards: 18/20 Revista de Vinhos
