At Quinta de Ventozelo, every grape variety has a history and the whites are no exception. Viosinho is one of the great revelations. In hot climes, this variety keeps its pronounced profile – engaging, fresh and mineral. The profound knowledge of its traits, tempo and adaptation to our soils is part of this wine’s secret.
Grape Varieties: Viosinho. 20 years old vineyards.
Tasting Notes: This wine has a clear pale colour with mineral and fresh citrus aromas and subtle notes of honey. On the palate, it is surprisingly full-bodied with a well-integrated and distinctively fresh fruity flavour. Rounded and balanced with lingering citrus aromas.
Winemaking: Manual harvest. After a selection of bunches in the vineyard, the berries were chosen by optical sorting, choosing the perfect berries. These were then refrigerated, de-stemmed and pressed in an inert environment. The subsequent decantation and fermentation took place at a temperature of 16°C.
Ageing: Stainless steel vats.
Gastronomy: This wine can be served as an aperitif or to accompany light fish, highly acidic dishes like ceviche and white meat dishes. Should be served between 10º and 12ºC.
Ideal consumption date: Can be kept closed, in suitable conditions, for 7 years without losing quality.
Enology: José Manuel Sousa Soares
