DO Palmela. The production of these wines with the right to mention Palmela origin is subject to a series of requirements that include the geographical location of the vineyard, the type of soil and type of technology used in winemaking, etc. These conditions mean that DO Palmela obtain a recognized quality in the national and international market.
Grape Varieties: Castelão
Tasting Notes: Color: Loaded garnet. Aroma: Intense, complex, fruity, an excellent combination of natural aromas characteristic of the Castelão variety. Taste: Fresh, deep and with great mouth volume. Aftertaste: Long and aromatic.
Gastronomy: Served at a temperature between 14ºC and 18ºC, it goes well with meat and cheese dishes.
Vinification: Fermented in a stone press with temperature control. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels.
Ageing: One year in French oak half barrels and then one year in bottle.
Expected Longevity: If stored in good condition, it has a great chance of improving for a few more years.
Store: Bottle lying down, in a place with a humidity of around 60% and a constant temperature (10-20ºC) and away from direct light.
