With grapes from the tallest hills from the Douro, namely from vineyards planted at the end of the 19th century, this “Branco de C” originated from 15 varieties, including Folgazão, Dona Branca, Verdelho, Siria, etc., planted at 800m altitude in purely granitic soil.
The Proibido and Permitido wines increasingly have a common denominator: Minimal intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar. We therefore respect what the vineyard gives us, and we try to make the transformation of grapes into wine as natural as possible.
Grape Varieties: 15 varieties – Field Blend of small plots.
Soil: Granitic
Tasting Notes: This wine presents citrus fruits on the nose with great intensity, fresh notes and lots of minerality. Wine well balanced in the mouth with a very long, persistent body and endless freshness.
Vinification: After manual harvesting and transportation to the winery in small boxes (18kg-20kg), the bunches were de-stemmed. Spontaneous fermentation in 225L used French oak barrels, without temperature control.
Ageing: 10 months in used French oak barrels on fine lees. 3 months of ageing in bottle.
Pairing and longevity: Red meat, more spicy cuisine, at a temperature of 12ºC. It can be consumed immediately or within the next 10 to 20 years, as long as it is stored lying down in a cool, dry place, protected from light and without temperature fluctuations.
Winemaker: Márcio Lopes
